The lights are up and the red carpet has been unfurled – Le Quesnoy is dressed in its Christmas best. And with the short days and the smatterings of snow, the weather is playing into the festive feeling.
Te Arawhata has been getting into the spirit too – the shop has been decked out in tinsel and baubles, and our wee Christmas tree is standing proud beyond the museum’s front doors. We also took part in the annual Christmas markets which lit up the main square of the town – Place des All Blacks – at the start of December. Special thanks to students of the Lycée Jeanne d’Arc for their assistance in running the stand, which was full of wonderful Te Arawhata merch to fill the stockings of both young and old.
Finally, we were delighted to invite some of the museum’s partners to a small Christmas gathering on the first floor of Te Arawhata. As the museum continues to grow, the Te Arawhata team wishes to recognise the contribution of all of its partners, visitors and friends who have supported us thus far. 2024 has been the museum’s first calendar year and we are all very excited for what is to come in 2025!
