Enrich your visit to Le Quesnoy and Te Arawhata with a guided tour of the historic town and ramparts where you will visit the key sites of the battle of 4 November 1918.
In an informative and poignant walking tour, our guide will bring the story of the liberation to life as you are surrounded by history. A tour is a perfect complement to the Te Arawhata experience.
The 17th Century Vauban defensive fortifications that surround Le Quesnoy set the scene for one of the most remarkable episodes in New Zealand military history. Walk amongst the historic walls visiting the key spots of the battle, including where the ladder was used by Second Lieutenant Leslie Averill to scale the ramparts, and the New Zealand memorial.
